The Wagon (Dithered)

Did you ever use a black and white Macintosh back in the day? if you did, look at this picture at full resolution. You should recognize something about the way it looks that will remind you of the way everything looked on the old Mac.
This picture of my old Honda Civic Wagon was rendered a 1-bit image using Floyd-Steinberg dithering — a method used for all grayscale images back on the old Mac. Fitting this car is a 1984 — from the same era as the old Black-and-white Macintoshes.
I used GIMP to do this — and I just love the way it looks. I’ve always found Floyd-Steinberg to be the most pleasing way to dither images. The technique is mostly disused now just because with Truecolor display technology, there is no need to dither anymore and it’s been removed from the operating system.
Windows never did a good job at dithering – and even Photoshop’s "Error-diffusion" method is ugly to me.
I find it amazing that this image looks as good as it does with just 1 bit of iinformation per pixel.

A man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after he slammed his car head-on into a group of motorcycle riders celebrating their club’s 10th anniversary, killing four motorcyclists and his companion, authorities said Sunday. But they also are looking for another driver who they say played a central role in the crash.

I went to the dealer to check the car out. Very nice interior and exterior. The car has 10,300 miles. One-owner, all maintenance done at the dealer. We looked at the carfax no accidents or major problems.

Cost will vary by location, condition, options, etc.
That car in PHX, AZ would dealer list at about $ 16,000 (assuming many things), but that doesn’t mean that is what people pay in your area.
